The latest "Afghanistan Gender Index 2024" released by UN Women on June 17, 2025, shows that in the nearly four years since the Taliban took over the power, Afghan women have faced systemic exclusion in key areas such as education, employment and political participation. The report indicates that the gender gap in this country is as high as 76%, ranking second globally. The realization rate of women's development potential is only 17%, far lower than the global average of 60.7%.
